The History Of Grimaldi
Some time ago in the mid 1940's, a humble man seeking shelter from the torment of war and hatred, settled down in the small principality of Monaco with hopes of starting a new life with his newly found bride. Two years and two children later, the wife mysteriously disappeared along with the two children. The woman and children (Matt and J.W.) have not been found to this day. Trying to salvage what was left of his life, the man returned to his job, only to find he had been let go. With no family, no friends outside of his job, and no source of income, he soon lost his home and was forced to wander the streets searching for his lost family.
On the verge of losing his mind, the man finally sought the help of a professional therapist. The therapist, after hearing of the man's woes, took a pad of paper, scribbled the name "Grimaldi" and passed the paper to the troubled patient. The doctor then said "I cannot solve your problems but I might be able to ease your pain. I prescribe that you go to the circus to see Grimaldi the Clown. If nothing, else, for the brief few hours that you are there, Grimaldi will make you laugh and allow you to forget about your troubles." A solitary tear dropped from the man's eye as he sighed "I can't, Doc....you see, I am Grimaldi." That man is our father. After talking with the therapist and bidding him farewell, Grimaldi the Clown toured the world performing his act. His only desires were to find his wife and children and to make the world forget about their troubles through laughter. Through his travels, he met and got involved with many beautiful women - our mothers. The Brothers Grimaldi are only half brothers for, although we share the same father, we each have different mothers from all over the world. Although none of us have met our father, we do carry the only known photograph of Grimaldi the Clown on our business card. Grimaldi is presumed dead, however, reports still surface of him performing his circus act in small towns all over the world. The Brothers believe he is still alive and still wonder what caused the mysterious disappearance of our other two brothers, Matt and J.W. Grimaldi. Someday, perhaps, we will all meet and Grimaldi the Clown will give one last performance so that we all might laugh together. |
